Obituary of Mrs. Maren Christensen

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Maren Christensen, of Boelus, at the Dry Creek Lutheran Church, Monday , June 10 at 2 o'clock. Rev. Viggo Petersen of Dannebrog officiated.

Burial was beside her husband in the loup Fork Cemetery.

Mrs. Maren Christensen was born Jan. 3 1864 and passed away at a nursing home in Grand Island, June 7, 1957, at the age of 93 yrs. 5 mos. 4 days.

She was married to Niels Christensen, May 21, 1880, at Dannebrog. To this union was born 13 children, 5 sons and 2 daughters of which the following survive: Theodore of Cairo, Elmer and Carl of Boelus, Otto of Omaha, Thorvald of Dannebrog, Mrs. Anna Petersen of Boelus and Mrs. Elnora Pedersen of Cushing. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, two brothers, Martin, of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Anton of Sioux City, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1911, 3 sons, 3 daughters, 3 sisters, and five brothers.

Mrs. Christensen lived in her home six miles east of Boelus, where she had resided continuously since her marriage.

She was affiliated with the Lutheran church.

For the past eight years due to old age and other infirmities she was confined to a wheel chair.
