FUNERAL RITES FOR MRS. PETERSEN

Carrie Mary Petersen, Former Dannebrog Resident, Died Sunday; Services Held Wednesday.

Carrie Mary Petersen, daughter of Niels and Maren Christensen, was born July 26, 1888, on a farm four miles northeast of
Boelus, Nebraska, where she grew to womanhood. In infancy she was baptized in the Lutheran Church at Dry Creek, and through all her life she was a devoted Christian.

She passed away at St. Francis, Kansas, on January 14, 1934, at the age of 47 years, 5 months, 19 days.

She was united in Marriage to Jens Petersen on March 16 1904. To this union four children were born.

The family resided on a farm west of Dannebrog, later moving to Dannebrog. In 1913 the family moved to Texas, where they resided until the death of her husband on February 20 1910. After the death of her husband the family moved back to Howard County, Nebraska, where they resided until about a year-and-a-half ago, when they moved to Benkelman, Nebraska.

Mrs. Petersen was never very strong, and during the last two years her health failed rapidly. But through it all she pinned her faith in God, growing to live closer to her Savior. She was a devoted mother, living only for her home and her children.

She leaves to mourn her passing Edward T., Walter C, and Elnora C., of Benkelman, Nebraska, and Mrs. Boyd Wetzel of Shelton, Nebraska, as well as her mother, Mrs. Niels Christensen; six brothers, Theodore, Elmer, Otto, Peter, Thorwald, and Carl; and three sisters, Mrs. Claus Clausen, Mrs. Chris Petersen, and Mrs. Emil Pedersen; and a host of relatives and friends, who will sadly miss her at her early departure

Funeral services were held Wednesday, first from the home at 1:00 P.M. and then from the Dry Creek Lutheran Church. The Rev. Harold C. Jenses, assisted by Pastor J. Chr. Pedersen, had charge of the services. Many old neighbors and friends were present to pay their respects. Burial was made in the Dry Creek Cemetery, near the church.
