Lillian G. Sperry, 92, formerly of Farmington, CT., died on Monday (January 10, 2005) in Hillsboro, NH. Daughter of the late Harry Wm. George and Hannah M. Christiansen, she leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Glenn Mathison of Hillsboro, NH., her grandson, Jasper N. Elder, two great granddaughters, Chelsa and Mackenzie Elder, two sisters, Gertrude and Graham Tyrol of Glastonbury, Jeannette St. Peter of Avon, and a brother, Donald Petersen of Unionville. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 1993 and her son, George Robert, in 1969. There are many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews that will miss "Auntie Lil." She was the valedictorian of the class of 1929, Bloomfield High School, a graduate of Hartford Hospital School of Nursing (1934). She was a caregiver throughout her entire life, as a sister, nurse, wife, mother, the nursery school "grandmother" at First Church of Christ in Farmington for 18 years, a driver for Services for the Elderly, a 52 year member of the Order of Eastern Star of CT., and a loving and caring friend to many special people. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Jan. 15 at 3 p.m. at First Church of Christ Congregational, 75 Main Street, Farmington with Rev. Dr. Ned Edwards presiding.
