Niels Miller, 87 of Blair died Friday, April 11, 1997 after suffering an apparent
heart attack.

Services were Monday at First Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery with
military rites.

Niels Miller was born Nov. 27, 1909 in rural Herman to Soren and Mette (Petersen)
Miller. He attended elementary school at the rural Glendale School. He served in the
Air Force during World War II, and was a sergeant from 1942 to 1945. On Sept. 14,
1947, he married Ethel Mae Ray. They farmed in the Glendale School District area
until moving to Blair in 1995.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Blair Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors are his wife, Ethel Mae, Blair; nephews and nieces, Arnold Frahm, Blair;
Harold Frahm, Hemingford, Nebr.; Gladys Mallette, Lyons, Nebr.; Stanley Sydow,
Percival, Iowa; Grant Sydow, Omaha; Eileen Hansen, Fremont; Anna Kruger, Omaha;
Elaine Steenblock, Ankeny, Iowa and many great - nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Mary Ann; a brother, Chris
Miller and three sisters, Christina Sydow, Cecelia Hansen and Rosina Hagge.

Campbell - Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
