Native of Denmark, Was 72 Years Old At Time of Death
Danish-born Soren Gravgaard Miller, 72, died Friday evening at the farm home of his daughter, Mrs. Calle Hansen of Blair, following a six-month illness.
Rites were conducted Monday afternoon at the First Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Blair cemetery.
Mr. Miller was born near Thisted, Jutland, Denmark, on July 11, 1872, and came to America in 1904. He lived near Fremont for three years, then moved to Washington county which had been his home for more than 35 years. The past two years he had lived in Blair.
He was married to Miss Marie Petersen on July 11, 1892. Five children, all of whom survived with the widow, were born to the couple. They are Chris Miller and Mrs. Calle Hansen of Blair; Mrs. Rosina Frahm of Herman; Mrs. Harvey Sydow of Lyons; and Niels with the armed forces, now stationed in England. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters in Milwaukee and Los Angeles, two sisters and a brother in Denmark.
