Jens P. Christensen was born Dec 25, 1883, on a farm near Boelus and his home had been there nearly all the time till five years ago when he went to Crosbyton, Texas, where he had a farm at the time of his death, but the last year he had rented it out and was living at Wichita Falls, Texas.

Sunday, June 15, Jens was with a number of friends at a picnic and with some of them went in swimming and was taken with cramps and drowned. The remains were brought here and a funeral Sunday from his home and the Dry Creek Church was attended by a large number of his friends and relatives.

Jens father died eight years ago and his oldest brother Christian died nineteen years ago. Besides his mother, Mrs. Niels Christensen, Jens leaves to mourn his loss, six brothers: Theodore C. near Cairo, Elmer A. near Elba, Otto, Peter, Thorwald and Carl at home. Five sisters: Mrs. Mary Petersen, Mrs. Chris Petersen near Boelus, Mrs. Claus Clausen, Crosbyton, Texas; Miss Christine and Miss Elnora, at home.

Jens loved those little brothers and sisters at home and longed to see them, but that was not to be. Blessed be his memory.

Besides his mother, brothers, and sisters, Jens leaves a number of other relatives and many friends who we join in extending heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.

Jens was not only a loving and kind son and brother but he was also a good upright and honest young man and a true friend.
