Sandra "Sandie" E. Thompson, 66, Wakarusa, formerly of Michigan and New Jersey, died 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014 at the Elkhart Hospice House. She was born Oct. 31, 1947 in Flemington, N.J. to Robert & Mary (Tange) Muhler. She married Wed Thompson on Sept. 5, 1970.
Surviving are her husband, Wes, son, Matthew (Erin) Thompson, Grand Rapids, Mich., sister, Barbara Carns, Hampton, N.J., father & mother-in-law, Ralph & Ruth Thompson, sister-in-law, Arlene Oley, nephews, Patrick & Allen Carns, and niece-in-law, Dana Oley, all of N.J. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sandie was an administrative assistant and a member of the Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren. She had a passion as a volunteer, including therapeutic riding, reading, mentoring and was a soup kitchen friend.
