Emma Jean Henning [43064]
Cause of her death was ovarian cancer. FamilySearch ID: KWCV-HJ9. General Notes: Emma came from a family of 10 children. She was taught early in life how to work and never forgot this principle. She had slightly red hair and into her later years it, of course, turned silver. Mother was a very good housekeeper and did her best to teach her children this skill. She enjoyed doing things with her children and their families later in life and was always game to do whatever anyone else did. She liked to crochet and was quite an avid bowler for several years. When Carl, her husband died, she moved from the farm in Lindon, UT to a small home on 4th North in Orem, UT, where she continued to raise the 12 year old son she had been left with. After he graduated from high school he went into the service and from then on she lived alone. In March 1972 she learned she had ovarian cancer and had surgery in hopes of getting rid of it which didn't happen. From that time on she went through radiation and chemotherapy treatments which only prolonged her life. Her health went up and down from then until the time of her death in Jan 1973. In the summer of 1972 she was able to make a trip to California to visit with her three living sisters for the last time. She loved all her grandchildren equally and was always willing to help out when the need arose. Emma married Carl Ferdinand Petersen [43065] [MRIN: 15480], son of Peter Christian Petersen [42429] and Karen Trine Andersen Kaae [42430], on 1 Nov 1925 in Loveland, Larimer County, Colorado, United States. (Carl Ferdinand Petersen [43065] was born on 8 Mar 1892 in Marquette, Hamilton County, Nebraska, United States, christened on 17 Apr 1892 in United States, died on 16 Jan 1954 in Lindon, Utah County, Utah, United States and was buried on 21 Jan 1954 in Orem, Utah County, Utah, United States.). The cause of his death was heart attack while helping to fight fire in barn. |
