  General Notes:

John C. Larsen, 58, died September 7, 1935, at his home in Newell. He had been in poor health the last three years, and had suffered an attack of angina pectoris about two weeks ago. He was stricken with a fatal heart attack on Saturday afternoon about 3:30.
Funeral services were held from the home and from the Danish Lutheran church on Tuesday, Rev. Hakon Jorgensen officiating.
Burial was in the Newell cemetery. Pall bearers were Mr. Larsen's nephews: Harry Olsen, A. C. Pedersen, Clarence Christensen, Cecil Wirkus, LeRoy Christensen and Mark Haven.
OBITUARY
John Christoffer Larsen was born March 20, 1877, at Kankakee, Illinois, to Peter and Martha Christoffersen Larsen. He came with his family to Buena Vista County in 1881 and has been a resident since that time with the exception of a few years spent in Minnesota.
He was confirmed in the Danish Lutheran church in Newell at age 14. On May 22, 1907, he was united in marriage with Jennie Banks at Fort Dodge.
He was preceded in death by his parent and two sisters, Susie, in 1908, and Kate Christensen, who died in 1930.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie; five sons, Vernon, Edward, Kenneth, Donald and Charles; and six daughters, Mildred, Ione, Martha, Irene, Lucille and Jeanette. All live in Newell with the exception of Mildred, who lives in California. He is also survived by three brothers, Lars, of Newell, Martin, of Fonda, and Charles, of Aitkin, Minnesota; two sisters, Mary Christensen, of Newell, and Emma Nelson, of Los Angeles, California.
Out-of-town relatives who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Lee Clark, of Arcadia, California; Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Larsen, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Haven, Mrs. Dora Hamilton and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Moulton, all of Fonda; Mr. and Mrs. Will Hersom, of Gilmore City; Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Overgaard of Storm Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Will Stevens and James Banks, of Fort Dodge (abstract, Newell Mirror, 9-12-1935).
