HOLLAND TWP. -- Jens K. Tange died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at home. He was 87.
Born in Thisted, Denmark, a son of Severin and Karen Overgaard Tange , he lived in Frenchtown and Holland Township for most of his life.
Mr. Tange was a foreman at Plessey Corp., formerly known as Frenchtown Porcelain Co., until retiring 23 years ago. He was also a farmer, and worked as an equipment mechanic at Hampton's Garage in Raritan Township.
He was a member of First United Church of Christ in Milford.
He was one of the oldest members of the Frenchtown Union Fire Company and was an exempt fireman. He was an honorary life member of the Milford Fire Company.
Mr. Tange was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Frenchtown. He was a charter member of the Farmers Sportsman's Club in Holland Township. He enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling.
Three brothers, Holgar, Helmer and Chris Tange , and three sisters, Thora Schultz, Mary Muhler and Ellen Nielsen, died previously.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, the former Mildred Faust; two sons, Monte and David, both of Upper Black Eddy, Pa.; four stepsons, Chester Faust, Alvin Wieder, Robert Wieder and Raymond Wieder; two stepdaughters, Betty Beltz and Dorothy Weaver; a brother, Aksel of Flemington; a sister, Hilda Zachar of Stockton; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, 19 step-great-grandchildren, and five step-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the W.E. Johnson Funeral Home in Holland Township. Interment was at Locust Grove Cemetery in Quakertown.
