Trudy Gammelgard passed away peacefully on December 24. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Nick Gammelgard, cherished daughter, Sally Smith, sister and best friend, Jean (Bob) Reed, and brother, Colonel Bill Sandercock.

She is survived by her son Pete Gammelgard and daughter Jean (Hugh) Embry, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, several close nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Trudy graced everyone she met with her sharp wit, tender heart, giving soul, and always warm smile. We are all left with the cherished memories of a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, aunt and true friend.

A memorial service and Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will take place in the spring where she will join her husband, Nick, who was a Commander in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
